Shoot N Edit Week Two: Part II

Let's take a look back, shall we, at my SOOC entry for the Shoot and Edit Challenge:
Afton at the pond

Afton hanging out by the pond.
I opened the photo in Camera Raw and proceeded to do a clean edit by simply adjusting the white balance, the brightness, fill light and blacks, and even a little color saturation tweaking.

Camera Raw:

After that I started following Ashley's tutorial, but I did skip a few steps that I didn't need, as they pertained to working on the white of the table and the shadow of the cup.  I did use a few layer masks, to paint on and off certain effects.  I also did a high pass filter twice, once at the beginning and again at the end, with a layer mask so I could keep the effect on only the eyes and the hair clip.

Final Edit:

Let me know what you guys think of the edits, and check out more edits over at Ramblings and Photos!

Nicely done - she really pops now.

What a great edit and capture. I love the hearts on the bottom of her shoes.

I like them both, but I think I prefer your RAW edit! What a cutie!

I love the detail that emerged with the edits. You lost some softness, but this effect really works with the brightness of the photo. :)
